DMack Tyres Hunting Australasian Safari Success

When the 2013 Australasian Safari begins in September the local West Australian crew of Dave McShane and Bill Hayes will be out for victory, and to help them in their quest they’ve been joined by tyre giant DMack and have a new car with proven race-winning pedigree.

“The Australasian Safari is a massive test of man, machine and tyre, so I’m extremely proud to have support from DMack,” said McShane.

“They’ve been incredible, the support leading up to the event has been a massive boost for me and I can’t wait to help them lift the trophy when we get to the finish!”

With his new car on its way and the continuing development of Dmack’s tyre range in motorsport I’m sure working with Dave we can look forward to a great result on what will be an exciting challenge in September”

DMack have proven their sporting prowess on the World Rally Championship stage and they are confident that this motorsport experience on the WRC will stand them in good stead when they tackle the rough and rocky terrain of outback Western Australia.

“The roads are brutal, and that’s putting it kindly,” said McShane. “It’s seven days of flat out racing across some of the harshest territory in Australia.”

“DMack have Rally Raid experience in the ultimate off road event….Dakar, and they are looking to use that experience here in Australia as well. In turn it will also help them with continued research and development in building high-class off-road tyres” added McShane.

McShane and co-driver Bill Hayes will pilot a car with proven pedigree, a rally-weapon that has no less than two South African Cross Country titles to it’s name.

“We’re just waiting on the Revo to arrive, its en-route from South Africa as we speak,” explained McShane. “It’s an incredible car, in the hands of Evan Hutchison it claimed two Cross Country Championships, and you don’t achieve those sorts of results without proven performance.”

“I flew over to South Africa to test the car earlier this month and I was blown away by its speed and durability. It’s a proper Rally Raid car and I just can’t wait to unleash it on the terrain we’ll encounter on the Safari!”

The Australasian Safari will commence with a Safari Show at Wanneroo Showgrounds on Thursday 19th September. Competitors will cross the finish line in Geraldton after seven tough days in the Western Australian outback on Friday 27 September.
